2015 WIFTA Film Series

WIFTA Film Series

Monday, September 14 & Tuesday, September 15, 2015

Plaza Theatre – Atlanta, GA

Each year, Women In Film & Television Atlanta (WIFTA) hosts a short film showcase that highlights the work of talented filmmakers throughout the Southeast and beyond. We accept entries from independent filmmakers from all genres – drama, comedy, action, sci-fi, animation, spiritual/gospel, documentary and experimental. The films must have strong female ties, whether it be a woman director, producer, writer, cinematographer, lead actress or a heavily female cast.

This year, for the first time, WIFTA accepted both short films and documentary features for the WIFTA Film Series on September 14 & 15, 2015 at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta. Monetary prizes for $500 were awarded for Best Short Film and Best Documentary Feature. Best Actor, Best Director and Best Female Representation – an award for a film that fully utilizes women both in front of and behind the camera – will also be presented.

The winning short film in each category was included in the Short Film screening on Monday, September 14. The runner up and winning feature-length documentaries were shown on Tuesday, September 15.
